Frank's Field of Dreams 提到...

Gary Chen is someone who I knew through my time as an interpreter for the four Boston Red Sox' minor leaguers they signed in 2006, he's a very suspicious character, mostly being a jerk who likes to boss people around and act like they work under him.

There are plenty of stories I could say about him, but let's just go with a couple right now, I am not someone who is putting up wrong information.

#1, Gary first contacted me through my website, www.franksfieldofdreams.com, all he asked was my AIM screen name, and said he is just a fan wanted to talk about baseball. After talking to him for an hour online, he told me the reason why he contacted me, wanted to see if I would be interested of working as an interpreter. During our first contact, he also told me he is good friend with Tsao, which I seriously doubts now after reading the above.

#2, My University student newspaper and the town's local paper interviewed me after I told one of my former professor of my new job at the time, he found out, and got very upset at me, must have yelled at me on the telephone for about 30 minutes over it, and I was working at the time with players on the field, games going on etc.

#3, Gary called just about everyday to check players' status wants to know every detail that goes on in their life, such as 1 pm, what did they do, 3 pm, what did they do, what kind of food they ate for dinner, how much weights they lifted today, or what kind of conditioning they did after practice today etc., acting like he's their agent, more than just a friend or the scout who discovered them, after I mention it to my real boss, Craig Shipley, he promised that Gary will back off and stop bothering me because Gary, as a scout, is not with the player development.

#3, The highest paid player, Chiang, sort of get special treatment from Gary, he received a PSP from Gary during his time scouting him, when he brought it over to Fort Myers, it wasn't working and needs to be fixed, Gary once again called me after Shipley told him to leave me alone, this time in a better tone than the last one, wanted me to mail it to his hometown of Huntington Beach, CA so he can get it fixed, first I told him why don't I just take him to the local Edison Mall in Fort Myers and get it fixed, he said he brought it for Chiang, let him take care of it. I told him sure, I will get the equipment manager Mike Stelmach to mail it to him since he is the one handling the mails at the Minor League complex, after I told Mike about it, he said no, because Red Sox don't do "this and that" for any of the players. I told Gary I couldn't mail it to him, guess what, he lost his temper again, and now switching back to his bossy mode, even had the audacity of asking me, why don't I just take it to the local post office? Where I don't have transportation. This is one of example where he wanted me to do stuff against organization policy.

#4, One of the player, Yeh had bunch of instant noodles mailed from Taiwan (must been at least 30 cups) to him from his parents, but had to leave for Lowell two weeks later, I told him I will given the rest to the other three players arriving later, which I did. One day, Chiang ate instant noodle for lunch, Gary found out, again he was very furious at me, this time for not being able to take Chiang out for lunch, well...

#1, Chiang never asked me to take him out, Gary said it is my duty to knock on his door everyday, asking him where he wants to go eat, where this kind of special treatment don't go on the other three players.

#2, Chao-Ting Tang who is with the Tigers now, was on his last day of his three day trial in Fort Myers. If I am not wrong, I left the hotel around 11 am that day to help him check in the airport, so I skip lunch, and was not in hotel.

This time, after previously being chewed out on the phone few times prior, I told him to quit acting like my boss, and I work for the team not him. But he said I wouldn't have the job without him, well...who contacted who for help at first? I enjoyed every co-workers I had very much, front office people to the ones stationed in Fort Myers year round, but Gary was the only one who disrespected me very much and made my job tougher.

I decided to quit in July after I couldn't took his garbage anymore, less than five months I start the job, and less than two months from finishing it, the Red Sox went through several more Taiwanese scouts after I resigned until they settle with the current one, Mickey Jiang.

Did I mentioned that once Gary talked to Yeh during practice, and it got Craig Shipley upset because no players should be on the phone during practice/game? Gary just didn't understand what his job really is.

The above are not entirely everything I know about his sketchiness. I have more to whistle-blow, but I don't need to at this moment. By the way, I am sure Gary will see this, just to let him know, just about every co-worker (they might no longer be with the Red Sox now) I knew in Fort Myers also told me you were sketchy, one of them even told me "are you really a doctor" because if you are, you are not the one he would go see if he's sick.

Thanks to everyone who read my rant.

Frank's Field of Dreams 提到...

Just to clarify, Tang was at the Red Sox workout after playing the East/West High School All-American game in New Mexico in the summer of 2006, which he already graduated from San Ming High School.

However, people have heard that Gary Chen signed a couple other players early, it is up to the individuals to decide if he did or not.

  1. Frank,

I can honestly say I did whatever I can to help the Taiwanese players. For anyone interested, feel free to ask Taiwanese players Chih-Hsien Chiang, Chih-Hsiang Huang, Wang-Yi Lin, and Ting-Jen Yeh about what kind of person Frank was and how he performed as an interpreter. They've had several interpreters and the ONLY one that they had issues with was Frank. I didn't need to act as the bad guy if the players didn't have issues with Frank. I do whatever I can to help the players and Taiwanese baseball. Frank, I suggest you look in the mirror and ask yourself how much you did to help the Taiwanese players in their transition to living and working in the U.S. You quit because you knew a replacement was coming in for you because the players just couldn't take it anymore. I highly recommend you speak with the players about their take on you. Also, by the way, Mr. Shipley just invited me over to camp last month. My goal is not to please people, and my goal is to help the Taiwanese players and Taiwanese baseball. I am totally content to piss off and disrespect people that put themselves ahead of Taiwanese baseball and players.

  2. "I can honestly say I did whatever I can to help the Taiwanese players."

You mean by sending them porn DVDs/passwords because they were bored, or let them view adult videos while you were hosting them at your house while they are still in High School around the age of 16? Or how about when you used Chih-Hsien Chiang's e-mail account to e-mail Mike Stelmach about wanting to order some bats and have them sent to you, trying to impersonate Chiang in the e-mail?

Would you really have "helped" the players if they didn’t give you a portion of their signing bonus?

"For anyone interested, feel free to ask Taiwanese players Chih-Hsien Chiang, Chih-Hsiang Huang, Wang-Yi Lin, and Ting-Jen Yeh about what kind of person Frank was and how he performed as an interpreter. They've had several interpreters and the ONLY one that they had issues with was Frank."

I suggest you and anyone else to ask the people who were there everyday, such as manager Dave Tomlin, pitching coach Walter Miranda, hitting coach U.L. Washington, coordinator Victor Rodriguez, equipment manager Mike Stelmach, etc…who are still with the Red Sox. Ask them how I performed. Why did the players had "several" people to translate for them? Was it because you were an a$$ to just about every one of them? I was not meant to be a servant to those players. Front office people like Shipley or Jared Porter can tell you that.

"You quit because you knew a replacement was coming in for you because the players just couldn't take it anymore."

Again, you are lying straight out of your teeth, I quit because I didn't need to put up with you, there was no replacement, when I quit in July 2006, it wasn't the first time I thought about it, I previously told Shipley and director of development Mike Hazen of my intention of don't want to put up with you anymore in middle of June and told them I will stay until the end of June, they ask me to give you another chance and told me they wanted me to stay for fall instructional league and 2007 in Greenville, South Carolina, I agree to both of them to give you one more chance, but you pissed me off again in July by screaming and shouting at me on the phone over little thing on Chiang ate instant noodle for lunch, that's why I left. Once again, anyone could ask the manager/coaches, or other staff members who based in Fort Myers about what kind of sketchy person you were, Dave Tomlin said the reason you kept calling me wanted to know what's up with the players is because had you called him, he would've just told you to GTFO, because is not your business when you're not part of the player development as a scout.

"Also, by the way, Mr. Shipley just invited me over to camp last month. My goal is not to please people, and my goal is to help the Taiwanese players and Taiwanese baseball. I am totally content to piss off and disrespect people that put themselves ahead of Taiwanese baseball and players."

We also can agree to disagree on a lot of points, including this one. I don’t think a guy who approaches as young as junior high Taiwanese players with promises of playing professional baseball in the US is completely concerned with helping Taiwanese baseball. I think your motivations are clear. Why don’t you just explain to them from the get-go that they will be charged a representation fee, and that you are acting as a player agent? Anyone who claims to hold any respect toward the game of baseball would be a scout when he claims to be a scout, and an agent when he claims to be an agent. Can’t be both. That is called ‘conflict of interest’.

In would be informative to those who read this blog if you could also explain how it ‘helps Taiwanese baseball’ to get your players to sign before they are supposed to, causing coaches and other players on San Ming/Kao Nong to be suspended and lose opportunities. Do you care about Taiwanese baseball, or do you only care about the players who you can benefit from?

In the previous posts and replies, we all can see how your creditability and reputation is in Taiwan, everyone knows you are not there to help the players other than getting them in trouble such as signed early in the case of Chiang/Lin Wang-Yi (why did their HS forfeit wins and coaches suspended?) and then proceed to take a portion out of their bonus as your dues.

Do you ever wonder why this site other than 宋正立, just about every other anti remarks are made towards you?

  3. Go ask Chiang and Wang-Yi Lin and their families have I've ever gotten money from them or asked money from them.

Also, go ask if other interpreters had any issues with me. They all did excellent jobs and helped the players. The only interpreter the players dislike and don't miss was you.

I also worked as scout for one year only for your interest.

I am never afraid of others knowing what I do but I am unhappy when there I get falsely accused. You have falsely accused me of things and damaged my reputation. I have spoke with the Red Sox front office and the players, who are very supportive of me, and I will be pursuing legal action against you regarding your false accusations.

    回覆刪除
  4. They players have informed me they are willing to testify for this case. You will be hearing from my attorney soon.

    回覆刪除
  5. First, I made no accusations that I know to be false. You did the same. You claimed to state a fact about why I left the Red Sox, which is untrue, this could also be considered defamation of character, and would hold just as much water in court as your claims. You are also keep dragging the organization into this, and this is under as a "civil" case, the Red Sox will only laugh at you if you want them to release the players from playing to testify for your bogus lawsuit, because you are being upset that someone wrote their true experiences with you. If I am wrong about you receiving money from players, then I am wrong. I am only restating what has been said online and by numerous other people that contacted me, of course the players will side with you, had they admits your wrongdoing, that basically meant they are guilty in this scandal as well, if anyone go ask Chiang was he signed early, he would say no, he told his coach this while he was still in HS, and he indeed was already signed by you, otherwise the CTBA wouldn't suspended his school.

Also, I failed to see how someone can miss me, when I was only their interpreter for only two to three weeks, I don't miss the players either myself, does that meant they are all terrible individuals? Anyone read this can contact coaches/rover Dave Tomlin, Walter Miranda, U.L. Washington, Goose Gregson, Orv Franchuck, and other workers based in Fort Myers, and ask them how I performed, I have nothing but respect for the organization and I did everything as the team asked, when I held an English class the team required, the players decided it is no fun and rather chat with you on MSN, does that meant I did not help their transition of living in the US? You are the only one who felt I didn't do a good job, because I didn't follow your program, you wanted me to do a lot of stuff behind the team's back, against team rules, and you wanted me to treat the players much better than other players in camp and do things behind the team's back in order to keep them happy to make you look good, but this wasn't the program the Red Sox wanted the players to be on. All players must be treated equally, that's one of the rules posted on the wall of Fort Myers office, I am sure you missed that while you visited there.

Lastly, once again you failed to enlighten everyone how you have really helped Taiwan's baseball within the last few years since you got into the baseball field. Along with everything else that was being said, basically you admits them to be all true "silently", I don't have the desire or the need to damage your reputation, you are doing a good job on it yourself.

    只要你敢做,就不要怕被人知道。

  6. Well, Frank, you obviously don't understand. Go check who signed those players. Other interpreters were liked by the organization as well and also the players but everyone of the Taiwanese player hated you. What I've done to help Taiwanese baseball you can go ask the players. That's your problem, you don't talk to the players.

For issue of taking money from Chiang/Wang-Yi Lin, I will look forward to see you in court. You want to do this in the U.S. or Taiwan? I am sure you will have a lot of your other questions answered in court. You don't need to worry about how I get my witnesses but I assure you I will have quite a few. The players are excited too.

    只要你敢說﹐就不要怕被告!

  7. Again to show how much you know about Taiwanese baseball, the schools didn't get suspended by CTBA. CTBA has no authority to suspend the schools. Go do your research correctly about who suspended the school first before you make your statements.

  8. The ball is in your court, so it is your call, I have no problem with it, it is you that is getting angry and embarrassed over some truths being leaked out, and I assure you, I will have quite of few more stuff related to you that I have not mentioned it just yet.

Also, I don't care who suspended CTBA, you can try to make me look like I am someone raw compare to your "experienced" service time with Taiwan baseball, but schools were indeed suspended, if you consider that as a "help" to Taiwan baseball, then there are nothing further need to be said.

Once again, I made no accusations that I know to be false. If I am wrong about you receiving money from players, then I am wrong. I am only restating what has been said online and by numerous other people that contacted me. You can drag this as far as you want, I look forward for the entire Taiwanese baseball community knows what kind of person you really are after all this ordeal.

  9. It's good that you admitting to your guilt about your false accusations, that shows how credible you are. I am not sure why you seem like conflicting yourself about saying you made false accusation and at the same time saying me getting angry about "truths." I actually don't really care about all your other stuffs but I do get very angry about your false accusation. Furthermore, I haven't seen any others making this kind of false accusation against me online. For the people that contacted you and yourself, I suggest you do some proper investigations, which only takes a simple phone call to the players, before making obnoxious and improper statements like that. Also, Wang-Yi Lin was the only 16 year-old player that has stayed at my house before and what you said about happening at my house was completely untrue. When Chiang, Huang, and Lin had you as interpreter they were all over 18. Get your facts straight and don't make false accusations, won't help your credibility in your attacks against me. I assure you get your facts straight. You can ask Shipley about his thoughts about your performance. You can also ask other interpreters if they feel like they are/were servants to the players, I think they all enjoyed their jobs and relationships with the players. If it's your passion to attack people online and tell your ONE-SIDED STORY that's your right but you should get your facts straight and don't make false accusations.

  11. Reputation in the Taiwanese baseball community? I suggest you start with the players rather than a blog. Getting hated by players is the most damaging thing to one's character/reputation in the Taiwanese baseball community in case you don't know. Frank, get over it, you made my life miserable because the players had issues with you everyday. When I called them yesterday they still didn't have anything good to say. I care about them so I had to act certain ways. The players are the biggest part of the baseball community. STOP making false accusations of me taking Chiang and Wang-Yi Lin's money. Be smarter, call the players. Call Shipley and ask about your evaluation since he was the boss. I urge you to do these things before you continue your ONE-SIDED STORY.

I just wanted to let you know if you truly love Taiwan and truly love baseball, then please stop BSing on this blog. Instead please help the baseball industry in Taiwan that are in danger now. We need people who are giving not complaining. That's all I have to say.
I know the reason why you left and your statement is not true, so please stop your childish actions and start acting like an adult, if you really love baseball.

  13. When you look at my very first reply, I said "Would you really have "helped" the players IF they didn’t give you a portion of their signing bonus? I am not responsible for your misunderstanding while reading the context.

I got my facts straight when the three players chatted in the dugout during one of the GCL games, they talked about how they spend the previous summers in your house, and your supply of entertainment movies.

You added getting hated by players is the most damaging thing to one's character/reputation, however you do not realize that no player(s) is above the team, Manny was one of the players who wanted to be treated differently and much better than anyone else on the team, after he was traded, he said the team didn't treat him good enough and he hated Boston, should the organization be blamed for it? Is it anyone else's fault that he pushed the old secretary down. Also, once again, you do not understand that I work for the team, not you, or the players that you spoiled and made lots of promise of extra benefits to, if they disliked me because I wasn't willing to give them extra benefits compare to you, or help them lie to the coaches when they refused to do what the team required and have the team found out in the end which force them to have the coaches let them know if they do it again it will be a $20 fine, then I have no problem of being the guy that's hated. They also hated the long conditioning program Red Sox had compare to Taiwan, should trainers be blamed for it when the players hated their request of running laps and do weights? Shipley told me there was no need for me to run errands on their behalf.

There will be no problem of hearing Shipley's evaluation on me, and I am sure you are aware that he only spend about two weeks (one during ST, another during GCL season) down in Fort Myers, so he don't know how much stuff you have done behind his back, anyone is welcome to ask Shipley and any other coaches/rovers/staff members...particularly GCL Red Sox coaches Dave Tomlin/Walter Miranda/U.L. Washington of how I performed, because they were there everyday from Spring Training through end of GCL season.

What you have done to help Taiwanese baseball is no one else's job to elaborate other than yourself, pinning the responsibility on bunch of teenagers showed how much you have to say to back up your "helps" overall, instead only on players who you can benefit from.

I told the truths behind the scenes solely on Gary Chen's true personality, if you feel it tied down on "Taiwan" and "baseball" then that's your personal opinion, and how are you going to make a statement of "I know the reason why you left and your statement is not true" when at the beginning you said "I am not affiliated with Dr. Chen or RS" Again, anyone can feel free and ask the coaches on the GCL squads of how I performed, right now it is extended Spring Training, so the coaches are there everyday from the morning until the games ended in the afternoon around 3 - 4 pm, so anyone who stop by Fort Myers be sure to go there and check out the truth.

Before my request of asking Gary of how much have he really done for the Taiwanese baseball community, and also giving out inside information of my first-hand experience with him on this site, there were already other people that have questioned Gary's integrity and character, which is not a surprise. Even the site blogger received different stories of his talk with Tsao's agent, Mr. Lee.

  15. You keep mentioning asking the GCL Red Sox staff about how well you performed, and that's pretty funny. To be honest, I only heard a couple negative comments about you during my casual talks with the staff when I was there interpreting for the Taiwanese players.

Technically you didn't do anything wrong, though (besides making false accusations). You just always did the very least you can do for the Taiwanese players. Red Sox probably doesn't really care about that, but we do.

    回覆刪除
  16. Peter Chen,

Your so called negative comments, I would like to know. I still maintain phone contact with Dave Tomlin, would he still call me and we exchange Xmas cards, if I really have nothing but negative comments to be told by him and others?

Technically I don't have to do anything other than what the Red Sox told me, whatever the team wanted me to do, I will do it, however if it is from Gary, then I will consult with the team first, if they said no, then I will not do it. It is the players' responsibility to follow team rules that I explained to them, if they choose to skip regular English classes in order to chat with Gary on MSN, it is their fault. If they don't tip the hotel drivers when they want to go Wal-Mart, to cause the driver refuse to take them to places, it is their fault. I am not sure what extra stuff you want me to do for the players, but I am certainly sure it is the extra benefits and personal errand runs that Gary wanted me to do, if Chiang is not going to be willing and ask that if I can go to the post office with him, I have no responsibility of go knock on his door and ask, Mr. Chiang, may I take your PSP to the post office by myself, so I can mail it to your friend Gary in California.

Who's "we" by the way? Certainly not the Red Sox, who wrote my checks, and ones I need to follow their request on my job description of the contract that I signed.

  17. Hi Frank,

I am not going to reveal the name of the person and the comments themselves because it's unnecessary and unprofessional to do that. I didn't hear them from Tomlin, though.

The only point I wanted to make is that you barely lived up to their minimum expectations (Red Sox)and you didn't meet the expectations of the Taiwanese players, who were properties of the Red Sox that you were responsible for. I guess you just didn't try hard enough.

I figured I would tell you about this when I saw you repeatedly mention asking them about how well you performed. It's just not what I heard.

    回覆刪除
  18. Peter Chen,

Thank you for your message, there is no need for me to know the name, however if you didn't want to share the comments, why bother to make a post about it?

As previously stated, I did what the team asked for, I did my end of job, I'm sure I didn't meet the expectations of the players, because whatever Gary promised them, was not exactly what the Red Sox would've done so, I am sure if you were in my position at that time, you would have done the right thing also. Additionally, if you questioned whether I tried hard enough, I don't think the front office would have talked to me about fall instructional league, and 2008 season in Greenville when I first told them my intention of leaving in June, why would they keep any employee that didn't tried hard enough, and again, why would Dave Tomlin told Shipley that I was "an asset" when he wanted Tomlin's input toward the end as I was leaving?

I could have put more names other than the coaches/rovers, however lots of former players and co-workers who I still maintain online contacts that was on the 2006 GCL team is released or no longer working with the Red Sox, Peter, I am sure you really enjoyed working with the Red Sox and soaking in every moment you had under the sun, so did I, because the team treated me and other employees well with lots of respect.

  19. Frank,

None of those posts claimed I took money from the players as you did. You worked for a MLB team before and know the players, why didn't you check with the players yourself? Just a simple phone call. You have access to insider rather than just taking these online posts from people without insider access. Are you that lazy or easily fooled? Call the players and you would've your answer instead of falsely accusing me and losing your credibility!

    回覆刪除
  20. And go check the players' passports and visas aside from Wang-Yi Lin if they came to the US at all in the previous summer. Why do you make all these false comments without checking? How have I benefited, I didn't take any of their money? If you want to make all these false accusations, do some checking first.

    回覆刪除
  21. You ever thought about doing the same for yourself? your "just a simple phone call...are you that lazy or easily fooled?" call the coaches and you would've your answers on my work habits, instead of keep trying to say I didn't work hard enough and make up a story of how there was a replacement coming in when you knew the fact I quit because I didn't want to put up with your antics anymore. Oh wait, Dave Tomlin doesn't welcome your call, since he indeed said had you called him and wanted to know what's up with the players, he would've just told you to GTFO because as a scout, you're not part of the player development.

It is clearly that in your mind, I didn't work hard enough, just for you, since I followed the Red Sox's instructions and program, instead of yours. Had I done everything you said, and quite lots of them are against team rules, you would never called me lazy, right?

We are still trying to get an answer of how have you "helped" Taiwan baseball, I know being a scout, then agent later on, you got a couple players signed to play Minor League ball, hosted a few kids at your house the last few summers, including at least two pitchers this year, but other than being a scout and agent in the Taiwan area, where you are getting paid as a job for both being a scout and agent, what other stuff have you done to help out voluntarily? Does making cold calls or randomy message junior high school players in Taiwan telling them you can help them achieve their dreams consider as one of them?

Let's just both do our best to help out Taiwan's baseball. I don't question your knowledge and experiences, however you do know for a fact that many people, not just me, whether posted on this blog or not, have questioned your intergrity and true intentions when you do things.

  22. I am a personal friend of Gary and I got to know a couple of the players mentioned in Frank's letter through him. I agree with Gary that I DID hear complaints from the players about how Frank treated them that summer. Yes, maybe you were just sticking with Red Sox instructions and did the minimum you have to do for your job description, but you put yourself ahead of Taiwanese baseball: you were more interested in personal baseball career advancement, rather than helping young Taiwanese players to adapt to the American environment and succeed in their baseball career. Maybe you just can't put yourself to the players position: going to a new country that speaks a different language and have a different culture, while trying to develop baseball skills and learn at the same time. Don't forget who you are and why you were there. I can't say how much Gary did for Taiwanese baseball, but Frank my friend, you did way less than he did.

    回覆刪除
  23. Roy,

Again as the previous posts, you mentioned how I did the minimum I have to do for my job descripion? I did what I "suppose" to do, that is after consulting with Craig Shipley, Dave Tomlin, player of development Mike Hazen.

You said I am more interested of personal career advancement, rather than helping young players from Taiwan to succeed in their career? Well, it is the players' choice of not attending English class session, rather talking to Gary on MSN, it is the players' choice of not tipping hotel van drivers, where in the end Dave Tomlin drove us and maybe another co-worker or two to eat just about every night, and when Tomlin indeed went out to eat every night after he finish his daily report, lots of times the players chose to order Chinese delivery instead so they can stick on their computer (where they don't tip the delivery man either and I have to end up calling different places), I don't see how I didn't help their transition to the US.

You should have wrote it more clearly, instead of saying I put myself ahead of Taiwanese baseball, it was "players" instead of "Taiwan" you were mentioning about. I already said no player(s) is more important than one another, so there is no way I am going to put the players ahead of team/organization.

If you are Roy Gao, then I am sure you did whatever you considered as helping the players' transition, which were to break team rules. Red Sox strictly had a policy for players that based in Fort Myers to never spend a night outside of the team hotel rooms (not even if their family come visit and have a room elsewhere), well, Wang-Yi Lin told me and showed me pictures of this Roy Gao took him to a weekend trip at Disney World in Orlando, and stayed with his friends back in the summer of 2005 that he knew in the area. However it isn't just what I would've done, and when you want to put the blame by saying, oh you put yourself ahead of Taiwanese baseball, or should I clairfy again that it should've been a Taiwanese player, then go ahead.

How much Gary is doing for Taiwanese baseball, lots of people still waiting...

I do know that in order to be a certified agent recognized by MLB, you must have one player signed that make the big league, so "maybe, possibly, likely" that is what Gary is doing, bringing as many players as he can to showcases for about 5-7 MLB teams, then signing as many as he can then see if one of them can ever make it.

Agents works for players instead of team, you do realize I am not an agent, right? Agents obviously have done a lot more than what I have in "baseball", so more power to them?

  25. To Frank's Field of Dreams,

Like Wen said above, your comments are extremely childish and unprofessional. Everyone has had issues with jobs, no matter what field you are in but complaining in public forum like you have done is just total immaturity. Grow up and learn to be an adult.

I do not think you understand the Taiwanese baseball community. Majoriy of the people chose to work as interpreters because they want to help and work with the players, much more than they want to do for the MLB teams. Majority of us Taiwanese baseball followers value our Taiwanese players more important than the MLB teams. Players are the main component of Taiwanese baseball, no players, then there would not be Taiwanese baseball.

I guess based on how proud you are of the job you did, you should really receive the "Interpreter of the Year Award." Getting disliked by 4 Taiwanese players it is no easy task by an interpreter. You really deserved this award.

It is unfortunate that our world just happens to have crazy people that have nothing else better to do but do childish complains like you.

  26. George,

There are zero instances in my experience down at Fort Myers that I complained about my job. The post I made almost three weeks ago was regarding Gary with what he wanted me to do against team rules, and what kind of bossy, extremely rude person he is.

When I work with the Red Sox, I am in the Red Sox community and family, not Taiwanese baseball, if you want to be extremely unfair to everyone, from the team who hired you, to other players (over 200 Minor Leaguers that you met) in your time then you could go ahead and follow Gary's program, but that's you, not me, if people like you could put any players over team and organization, then Manny should never been traded with all the antics he had, right?

There are certainly lots of people who have no problems of putting players over teams as you would have, they are called sports agents or in a real case, as someone like Basilio Vizcaino, or a “buscon” which is a middleman who often trains players in Latin America with the hope of getting a share of the money if the athletes sign with major league organizations. They don't work for the team. Does the name Esmailyn Gonzalez ring a bell in the back of your mind?

And I already mentioned this, if anyone disliked me because I wasn't willing to give them extra benefits compare to Gary, or help them lie to the coaches when they refused to do what the team required and have the team found out in the end which force them to have the coaches let them know if they do it again it will be a $20 fine (in multiple instances), then I have no problem of being the guy that's being disliked. The players were not the problem, everyone knows they were being mislead from the start, with extra promises and special treatments that no teams in their right mind would do so. You ever thought about how the Latinos, that makes up over 50% of the roster in the rookie league would felt? Every player is just as important as one another, apparently you have really failed to see that.

  27. I do not know Mr. Chen but from your childish, immature, and unprofessional comments aiming to criticize others including Taiwanese players make me feel you are the worst person here.

You do not seem to understand what most of us as Taiwanese baseball community feels, our players are more importan than the teams. When CCF did not get enough opportunities with the Dodgers, we criticized the Dodgers heavily. I believe all interpreters, except for you, would do everything they can to help the Taiwanese players, and they are not agents. Some interpreters have given up good jobs just in order to serve as interpreters. Based on your comments and thought process, you do not have any business to claim yourself wanting to help Taiwan baseball. If I were a player, I would not want someone like you to be my interpreter. All your criticisms about the players only do harm to Taiwan baseball.

I do not think Red Sox front office would be happy about your actions here. What happens in a clubhouse should belong there. I would bet Red Sox would never rehire you.

Your initiative was to criticize Mr. Chen but I can tell you are the worst of all based on your childish, immature, and unprofessional comments. I do not think anyone could be as childish, immature, and unprofessional as you. You have no business claiming yourself wanting to help Taiwan baseball!

  28. I know none of the people above, and I don't know anything about the Red Sox minor league staffs, and anything likewise, either. But I do know ONE THING:

Helping Taiwanese baseball players with everything you can is NOT exactly the same as helping Taiwanese baseball. Helping on the right things — and ONLY the right things — is.

I don't know which side of you guys holds more truth, and I have no means to find that out. But Mr Chen, if you are to talk about this like any gentlemen do, either you grab your balls and just sue Frank as you've been threatening, or please stop saying that you're "helping the players", while claiming it's helping Taiwanese baseball.

  29. Well, the fact of gary chen took money from chiang is an iron fact - 2 other people (one is working as boston local scout now) and gary got into disagreement when they were about to split the share they got out of chiang's pay, that's why words leak out - 'cause someone was not being honest???!!!

Also, if u do look into lin w-y's passport, lin did go over to the states via gary's help in showcasing to red sox's peopel in fl, along with huang c-h and chiang, c-h, and that's why they all got signed early. Anyone can ask coaches from taichung agricultural hs in taiwan to verify that fact.

Last but not least, gary and his associates are arranging to bring couple more players to the states this coming summer for another showcase and try to sell the kids at their best interests. They also tied up one hs freseman/rhp from tai-tung pe hs and hoping to seel the kid anytime soon. Gary also took the kid to the states for his so-called "summer camp"; and they were even once trying to get the junior hs kid from si-yuan hs/rhp-chiang to go this summer as well by lying to the kid that he's "invited to join red sox's fall camp" some shit...

Those are all facts and just like the website states: don't you dare to act like chickenshit if you are part of it!!!
